Joey is a Santa Clara County 4H Ambassador and his Service Learning Project this year was to assemble face shields and coordinate people to make masks for the Santa Clara County community. What started out as an ambitious goal of 350 masks has turned into 1,160 masks and face shields and counting! As the need/orders keep coming in, Joey has learned about different types of mask designs and now has provided masks for the Ronald McDonald House, a pediatric oncology office, homeless shelters, construction workers, assisted living facilities, community members, school lunch program youths and adults, eye doctors, dental workers, chiropractors, essential workers, preschools and pediatricians.
Joey is grateful for the immense help that Karen Clayton, an Ocean Grove ES, provided to Joey. She helped him figure out how to organize the project. As well, she donated a lot of her time and materials.
