What is something interesting about yourself that many people might not know?

I attended El Dorado High School and graduated as an honor roll student.  When I got to college, I found that I could not get through my classes. The reading requirements were overwhelming and I could not remember what I had read in order to pass my exams. This was devastating as I had dreamed of being the first college graduate in my family.  After two years of academic struggle, I was diagnosed with a reading/comprehension learning disability.  I thought, "How could this happen? I was such a great student in high school!"  The homework and project-based learning format in high school did not translate to the collegiate format of independent reading and testing. I was so frustrated and as hard as I tried, I could not get good grades.  Because I had received a volleyball scholarship, I kept going through college, but was unable to finish - until I found University of Phoenix.  As you may recall from many years ago, there weren't options for online university learning or alternative collegiate options.  Back then, this was a new approach to the college experience.  Needless to say, I graduated with a B.S. in Information Systems and most importantly, I learned so much and made friends that I still converse with today.  I believe we all learn a little differently.  I am just so grateful that we live in a time where alternative educational options are available.
