What is your favorite curriculum?

For elementary students, I love Moving Beyond the Page. There are so many resources provided that you can customize it for your student's needs. For my current high schoolers a blend of Bright Thinker and eDynamic have been a user friendly way to go!

What is your favorite read aloud book?

I love the book and series of The Giver by Louis Lowry. They were such great books to read and discuss with my middle school age boys. I also really enjoyed listening to Michelle Obama's book, Becoming. My father also had MS and found myself reflecting on how hardships in your youth help to develop resilience and compassion.

What is your favorite field trip?

I enjoy any trips to the ocean. My favorite field trip with my sons has been observing sea life on the O'Neill catamaran in Santa Cruz.

What is your area of expertise?

In the last four years, my expertise has been in program planning and problem solving, yet still focusing on the individual student and customizing our resources for the best learning experiences for each of my students.

What is your dream summer vacation?

I would love to stay at a big lake house for a month with family and friends that could come and go.

What is your favorite subject to teach?

Math and Science

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to create floral designs and working with succulents. I recently made floral wreaths and donated them to the senior living community where my mom lives. I also decorate pumpkins with succulents and sell them to a local farm. I love to have a group of friends together and teach them how to make their own succulent pumpkin. The best part is seeing people who didn't think they were creative, realize that they could make something beautiful.

What is something interesting about yourself that many people might not know?

That I can sing. Just kidding. I wish. :)
