Interviews with Sally Hampton (ELA) & Phil Daro (Math), standards writers who helped spearhead the Common Core State Standards.
    • Achieve the Core
The creation of the Standards video.
    • Achieve the Core
Module entitled “Why the Common Core: How the Standards are Different”
    • Common Core State Standards 101.pdf

Implementation of the Common Core State Standards

    • Educore - Tools for Teaching the Common Core
ASCD (formerly known as the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) has created a wealth of resources - professional development, lesson plans and modules, and other materials to successfully implement the CCSS. When you register on the website (for free) and create an account, you can save your searches, organize your tools and add notes.
    • Educore - iTunes U Common Core Courses
These courses are organized by the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for each grade level for ELA and Math.  They are created by teachers to give teachers ideas and resources for their classroom. The resources are meant to be a jumping off point, not an end point. In line with the intentions of the CCSS, these courses are not a curriculum; rather, they offer ideas and materials to help meet the goals and expectations of the standards and teach with iPad. The course provides general resources and materials targeted to specific standards.

Parent Resources

    • Parent Roadmaps for the Common Core
Math and English roadmaps for parents. These documents are organized by grade level from Kindergarten to 8th grade and show the current grade level standards as well as the year before and after standards, so parents can see what their child needed to have learned and will be learning.
